About This Course

This course will cover all the basics and critically important concepts of Tech Lead as per the KPIT process. You’ll go over.

Side frames and exterior panels

This module introduces the basics of side frames and exterior panels. Participants will understand the definition and functions of side frame, side frame design guidelines, significance of truss panels, types of fixing methodology and regulatory requirements.

In addition, the module covers uses of exterior panels, materials of exterior panels and skirt panels, packer plates, design considerations of exterior panels and types of cut-outs of exterior panels (e.g., provision for door, side marker lamps, etc.).

Bus interiors

This module will provide a comprehensive overview of sections included in bus interiors (front driver, wheel box, staircases). It also covers design considerations, materials and bonding, surrounding sections to be considered in bus interior design.

Bus seating legals

Participants will gain insights into the seating homologation requirement R107. Understanding minimum seat width, shoulder space, and minimum available space; minimum foot space; and intrusion into the lower parts of passenger space.

Hand Poles

This module provides a basic understanding of hand poles and handrails, general guidelines and design considerations, hand pole legals and standee area calculations and homologation requirement R107.

Bus seating

This module focuses on the types of seat variants, seating arrangement, tip-up seats, and seat fixing methodology.

Drawings for GRP components

At the end of this module, participants will gain an understanding of the general considerations for GRP drawings and surface finish details.

E200, E400 and E500 bus products

This module presents an overview of Enviro200 (E200), E400 and E500 products. This section will provide insights into the main differences of the three products in terms of economy, versatility and style.

Roof - Session 1

This module gives details on the design considerations for roof frame, roof pantograph, roof antenna, AC duct and roof hatch position and roof fixings.

Access doors

Participants will learn the types of access doors, uses of access doors, design considerations with emphasis on gas strut geometry and mountings in this module.

Glazing

This module will cover the following topics: Types of glazing, design considerations, glazing terminologies such as masking, glass logo, and fading, preparation and installation of main body glazing, curing requirements.
